English Abstract of Individuals Survival or Corporate Salvation

 

 And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Ē-līˊ-ăs did? But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of. For son of man is not come to destroy men’s lives, but to save them. And they went to another village. ” (Luke 9: 54-56)

Disciples are here asking Jesus to send fire from heaven to destroy the inhabitants of the Samaritans. This means genocide.

On another occasion, “one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together and perceiving that he had answered them well asked Jesus, which is the first commandment of all? And Jesus answered him, the first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Isreal; the Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God all they heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all the strength: this is the first commandment.  And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, There is none other commandment greater than this.” (Mark 12: 28-31)

“But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour? And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment , and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side. But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him, And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him. And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee. Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves? And he said, He that showed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.”  (Luke 11:20-37)

        Who is my neighbour?

If Jesus did send fire down from heaven and destroyed the village of the Samaritans and killed them all, this is genocide. And if all the Samaritans were killed by fire, then there will be no Samaritans left. And if there were no Samaritans left there will be no Samaritans to help the wounded Jew.

So help comes from the very people whom you try to persecute. Our world of today with European Union and United State both in financial trouble, the very country who is helping Europe and the United States is the very country that Europe and United States have been trying to destroy in the past.

The question is who my neighbour is. Your neighbour often times can be the people you’ve oppressed before; your neighbour could be the very people you have mistreated before. Your neighbour is the one who forgave you for the things you’ve done to them in the past. In fact, we should be neighbours with each other. We should not just do good to those who do good to us. We should do good to those who might have done wrong to us in the past.

In the world of today, we all live in the same boat, or we all belong to the same family, the family of human race, the same humanity, in fact we share the same family. The word family in the Greek language is “oi-co”, which means ecology or that the whole environment is a family. In fact, the whole ecology, the whole financial world, and the whole planet, or the whole universe is a family.

        Let us talk about the financial world.

If China stopped helping the United States, or if China recalled the debts which the U.S. owed to China, and what if the Wall Street collapsed, and more people in the United State lost their jobs, and if more homes were broken in the U.S., and if the U.S. became unable to buy Chinese goods, and if the same thing happened in Europe, if the whole world stopped buying from China, Chinese economy will be collapsed also.

So if China continued to help the U.S. and the world, China is also helping herself. It is just like the Samaritans. If they helped the wounded Jews, the Jews should help them too. So the Jews should remember that being helpful to the Samaritans is being kind to the futures relationships with the Samaritans and with their neighbours.

To be good to your neighbours is necessary for your own survival in the future. The survival of any individuals depends on the survival of the whole family and is not just alone for himself or for herself.

        Some people believe that survival is just for the individuals only. Wrong, wrong, wrong. Survival is for the family of mankind. Survival is corporate. Survival is for the whole community of the humanity and environment. Survival is universal. Instead of calling is ‘universal survival’, let us call it ‘salvation’. Salvation is the kingdom of heaven.

《圣经》上有记载:有人问过耶稣,“我应该今生如何做,才能在未来得到永生?”耶稣这样回答:“听啊,你们的上帝是唯一的永生的上帝。你们要尽心、尽圣、尽意、尽力爱主你们的上帝。其次的诫命是, 你们要爱人如己。”

        就有人问耶稣:“是的,我们要爱人如己,但是谁是我的邻舍呢?”耶稣就用一个故事来回答:说有一个犹太人在路途上遇到强盗,打伤了他又 抢了他的财物,就把他留在路旁流血。就在这个时候,有一个从圣殿出来路过受伤流血的犹太人,看到在路旁受伤流血的犹太人,就袖手旁观,没有停下来尽一臂之力,而是继续他的旅途。过后,又有一个神学博士也照样的路过,看到这个流血的受害者也没有助一臂之力,也照样继续他的旅程。后来 有一位被犹太人歧视的异族撒玛利亚人,也路过,看到这个光景,但他动了慈心,就停下来,救护这个受伤的犹太人。包扎他的伤口,把他放在自己的驴子上面,送他到附近的小宾馆,并预付了几天的住宿费,并答应旅店的老板,几天后再回来照顾。耶稣就问,“这几个路人,谁才是真正有邻舍的精神的呢?”耶稣的听众一齐回答说是那个动了慈心的撒玛利亚人才是名副其实的邻居。耶稣就回答说,你们就要实践慈心的善行吧。

         耶稣讲这个话的时候,以色列是罗马帝国占领的一个属地,属地不属于殖民地,殖民地中的人民是有公民权地位的。在罗马帝国时代以前,以色列也曾经被巴比伦帝国征服过,巴比伦便把以色列人口俘虏到波斯去,撒玛利亚的人民就和地中海一带的人通婚,通婚完了以后就不去耶路撒冷圣地祭天 拜上帝了,就在撒玛利亚本地祭天拜上帝了。耶路撒冷的经济便被影响,所以撒玛利亚 的人民遭受到了犹太人的歧视。但是耶稣在世的时候一直在为撒玛利亚人抱不平。当时在种族歧视的时候,丝绸之路是相通的,耶稣的思想被丝绸之路所影响,他认为四海之内皆兄弟,人人都是平等的。

 

种族灭绝(Genocide)

“他的门徒雅各约翰看见了就说,主啊、你要我们吩咐火从天上降下来、烧灭他们像以利亚所作的麽。耶稣转身责备他们两个门徒说、你们的心如何你们并不知道。人子来不是要灭人的性命、是要救人的性命。说着就往别的村庄去了。”

假如主听门徒们的意见,用火从天上下降烧灭撒玛利亚的村庄,这是一种种族灭绝的政策。那么,还会有撒玛利亚人在路上拯救被抢的、受害流血的人吗?

撒玛利亚这个种族一向是被犹太人歧视、瞧不起的,就像现在教会有很多信主的人瞧不起不信主的人,就订他们的罪。也像现在很多西方的白种人不但瞧不起中国人,也侵略欺负过中国,一般西方白人在心理上和态度上都认为他们是上帝的选民,上帝特别拣选他们来承受世界;白人还曾经把黑人当作奴隶。过去美洲的白人把土族印第安人当作没有开化的异族,执行种族消灭政策,抢夺他们的土地,把他们剩余的人驱逐到保留区里面去。本来有信主信仰的人应该更加有同情的慈心才对,但是事实证明很多信教的人不但没有慈心反而希望上帝降祸给这些不信的人。但是耶稣在福音书里面夸奖过去被欺负的少数民族,他们有同情心有慈心,被欺负反而动了慈心。主前第四世纪的孟子在《孟书》上说过,“人皆有不忍人之心。”“恻隐之心,仁之端也。”“无恻隐之心,非人也。”

天下为公,世界大同

所以撒玛利亚人他们自己也知道自己是被以色利人歧视的。虽然如此,耶稣告诉我们这些被歧视的人有恻隐之心,有同情他人的慈心 ,看到一个犹太人在路上被强盗抢杀以后,财物两失 ,并且全身流血, 在路旁经过的有几位宗教人士,虽然他们有宗教的地位,虽然他们有神学的知识,但是他们袖手旁观,自扫门前雪,为了保护自身的安全,就置之不理,从旁而过,孟子就说这批人没有恻隐之心(非人也)。据说今天的世界也有很多人见义不愿意勇为,不可助一臂之力,不但袖手旁观,反而匆忙而过。

现在的世界情形是非常复杂的,路上的悲剧是真是假很难分辨,但是孟子所讨论的是“人无恻隐之心非人也”,耶稣所提的是虽然撒玛利亚人是被欺负是被瞧不起的,但是他们有恻隐之心,他们不记仇,反而肯帮助受害的人。2011年日本遭遇到地震和海啸,全世界第一个国家的救灾队伍到达日本,并进行救灾工作的,是中国政府派来的,在对外世界记者招待大会上正式宣布中国救灾队伍是第一个到达的,我在电视上看到这个新闻,我马上就被感动得哭了。因为我们过去是被日本侵略的,我们是像撒玛利亚人一样被欺负被歧视的,我们并不记仇,是第一个现到,我认为中华民族的民族性有恻隐之心,有同情人类之心:四海之内皆兄弟也。是我们祖宗传给我们的一个道德价值观,这个道德价值观,对我们来说不只是纸上谈兵和空口讲白话,我们有实践的行动。恻隐之心是中国人天然人性的一部分,是祖宗们从三皇五帝开始,从古代圣贤开始,从传统的经典开始,就传达给我们了。中国人可以抬起头来,因为有这样的祖宗们和传统的价值观,是值得我们自豪的。我们必须继续坚持行善助人,荣祖耀宗,使我们在天上的祖先们也为我们而自豪。

所以在这一次全球的经济危机,不管是在欧洲还是美洲甚至全世界的任何角落,中国人都要团结起来尽力助一臂之力,尽力见义勇为。以下不妨提出几个建议,与读者们交流。

如果当时耶稣真的降火消灭了所有的撒玛利亚人,那么后来就不会有一个撒玛利亚人去抢救那个受伤的犹太人了。同样的,过去西方很多国家都想消灭中国,假如当时的中国真的被他们消灭了,就不会有今天的中国来抢救美国和欧盟的经济危机了,今天的经济危机是世界性全球性的,也可以说,今天的中国是在抢救全球性的经济危机。其实今天的中国是世界上抢救经济危机的一个火车头,来拉动了全世界的经济,不使全球经济崩溃。其实,中国对世界上做出最大的经济贡献是什么呢?中国用全世界百分之七的耕地解决了世界上百分之二十五的人口。并且 在这几年,自从2008年经济危机以来,中国建立了一个内需的市场,这个市场是世界最大的市场。解决了世界经济的危机。其次,中国现在是美国国债最大的债主,中国也通过国际资金的机构援助了欧盟等二十来个国家的经济。在这方面,中国所采取的政策是同舟共济,双赢的政策。有关于中国未来如何处理美国的庞大国债,因为中国是美国最大的债主,对这方面我请教了不少的中外人士。有些人很轻易的提出这个国债的问题,有些人很轻易的提出,有一天美国的财政破产了,付不起中国的,中国应该怎么办呢,有些人轻易的提出中国应该赦免美国的国债,但是很多国人,不管是在国外还是在国内,都异口同声地反对这种轻浮的建议。有些同学提出,要以国债来交换美国一部分的领土,换一句话说,假如他国用这种办法对待中国的话中国会愿意吗?世界上几乎没有任何国家会因为金钱而损失了一个国家的主权。那么还有什么办法呢,有人主张,要进行谈判,还有人主张中国停止继续购买美国的国债。我通过反复的考虑以后,并且和一些华人朋友交换了意见,到目前为止,购买美国的国债还是唯一安全的途径,任何的投资都有风险性,市场的本身就是一个风险性,要投资就要有风险,不然的话就不要投资,把钱拿来购买黄金,埋在地下,那些黄金,一万年之后还是一块黄金,这是一种死埋而不是一种投资。那么,中国因该如何投资人民血汗挣来的外汇呢。

既然中国是世界经济的火车头,但是这个火车头本身是怎么一回事呢,这是我的信仰,也是我的理想,这个火车头,需要投资,中国应该投资,这个投资乃是:重建农村家庭规模的可持续性农业,这个是最可靠的火车头这个就是内需的市场来源,因为中国这几千年来是以农立国的,中国的基本价值观是士农工商兵。农是本,商是末,农本商末,乃是德本财末的原理。 这个基础性的建设还是应该在国内,这样的话,便会少排污,减少污染源,也是一种可持续的发展。我希望中国以后可以变成世界精神道德有价值观的火车头。
